CHARLESTON, S.C. - Max Dupree led the Cougars with a top five finish to open the spring portion of the 2023-24 season at the Battle at Briar's Creek.
Dupree finished T4 (-2) with a bogey free opening round. The first round was split between Monday and Tuesday after weather caused Monday's competition to pause.
Loran Appel took 12th with seven total birdies (-1).
The Cougars finished in seventh at at 8-over. They will travel to Puerto Rico next week for the Puerto Rico Classic hosted by Purdue.
