
Cougars Take on Tigers in CAA Semifinals

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The top seeded College of Charleston men's basketball team will take on fifth seeded Towson in the semifinals of the 2024 Jersey Mike CAA Men's Basketball Championship on Monday, March 11.
The Cougars defeated No. 8 Monmouth in the quarterfinals 83-59 behind a 50% shooting performance from the field. Ben Burnham (16), Ante Brzovic (15), Frankie Policelli (14), and Kobe Rodgers (13) all scored in double-figures for the Cougars who have defeated their last six opponents by at least double figures.
Charleston currently holds the second longest winning streak in the country with ten straight victories. The Cougars won the program's first outright regular season title since 2003 and first ever in the CAA. Additionally, Pat Kelsey's program became the CAA's first outright regular season champion in four years.
The Tigers and Cougars split the two regular season meetings with Towson winning in Charleston 82-78 on January 18 and Charleston winning 72-56 in Towson on February 24. In the most recent meeting, Charleston made 15 threes at a 68% clip, the program's best shooting percentage and second most threes from deep this season. The Cougars shot 54.3% from the field and posted a season-high 13 steals.
Towson defeated No. 4 UNCW to advance to the semifinals. This will mark the second straight season the Cougars and Tigers will meet with a spot in the title game up for grabs.
