
Sailing Wins Tiger Town Trophy

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston sailing team competed at four separate events this weekend, including a win at the Tiger Town Trophy.
Dillon Garcia, Ashley Alfortish, Maison Koepke, and Katie Hanley competed at the Tiger Trophy hosted by Clemson. The Cougars won both races picking up 22 total points.
Charleston took third at the Bob Bavier Open Team Race led by skippers Brandon Geller, Alexander Gonzalez, Jonnie Ciffolilo, Axel Stordahl, and Noah Zittrer and crew members Garret Grenauer, Noelle Owen, Aidan Iaconis, Lucy Klempen, and Andrea Melnik.The Cougars defeated , Coast Guard, Harvard, Miami, and NC State during the first round and Jacksonville in the top four race.
At the Jen Harris Women's Team Race at the Naval Academy, the Cougars took sixth led by skippers Emma Tallman, Emily Alfortish, and Fredrikke Foss with crew members Clara Murphy, Marina Dryer, and Chlore Hudgins. Charleston picked up wins over Brown, Penn, Tulane, Navy, South Florida, William Smith, and George Washington.
Lastly, the offshore team competed at the Port of Los Angeles Harbor Cup, taking fourth place. Anna Galli, Robert Silcox, Sam Rosenbaum, Hadley Walsh, John McCarthy, Declan Donovan, Miles Wolf, Sims Whalen and Sean Groskoph competed for the Cougars.
