
Taryn Barbot Named Rookie of the Year; Three Cougars Earn Postseason Honors

CHARLESTON, S.C.- The College of Charleston women's basketball team earned three All-CAA honorees with six honors this season, highlighted by Taryn Barbot as Rookie of the Year.
 
Barbot becomes the first CAA Rookie of the Year in Charleston program history, producing an impressive freshman campaign. The Floral Park, N.Y. native led all first-year players and ranked fifth in the conference with 14.9 points per game. A six-time CAA Rookie of the Week, Barbot reached double figures in 21 games, eclipsed 20 points six times and scored a season-high 36 points on January 14 – the most by any CAA player this season. In addition, she contributed 6.1 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.8 assists per game during her first collegiate season. However, Barbot not only established herself as a top-tier rookie but earned All-CAA second team recognition.
 
Joining Barbot are first team selection and all-defensive selection Jenna Annecchiarico and third team selection Jada Logan.
 
Annecchiarico averaged 15.1 points per game with 5.8 assists. A pre-season second team honor, Annecchiarico impressed with 21 games in double-digits averaging 37.1 minutes per game. The point guard led the conference in assists, assists per game, steals and steals per game.
 
Logan topped off the Charleston honorees earning a third team selection. Logan averaged 13.3 points per game alongside 5.7 rebounds per game. Logan has earned double-digits in five of the previous six games for the Cougars.
