#4 NCEA Beats #2 Sweet Briar and Berry

CHARLESTON, S.C. – No. 4 College of Charleston equestrian defeated No. 2 Sweet Briar and Berry in a pair of home meets this weekend.
 
The Cougars opened the home action with a 6-4 victory against the Vixens before defeating Berry 7-3 on Saturday.
 
"Wonderful two days of competition here, the entire team worked and rode beautifully," said head coach Natasha Vitkovic. "Our team culture is so positive, stronger than ever which makes our appearances in the show ring that much more confident."
 
Junior Camilla Murray earned double MOP honors Friday, riding to an 88 in the fences and 85 in the flat. Murray capped off a run of four straight points for CofC in the fences as Olivia Lonneman (77), Maddi Cardelli (86) and Samantha Elliott (81) also grabbed points for the Cougars.
 
Entering the flat with a 4-1 lead, Lainie Rubin (84) and Murray's 85 helped secure the win over the second-ranked dual discipline program.
 
On Saturday in fences, Olivia Welsh (84), Cardelli (85) and Murray (88) helped the Cougars take a 3-2 lead into the half. Charleston rolled out with four straight points in the flat, including sophomore Samantha Aisenberg, who scored an 86 for MOP honors versus Berry. Welsh (77), Rubin (84) and Kenda Murray (81) helped in securing the 7-3 victory.
 
CofC open the month of November on the road with meets against Dartmouth (Nov. 1) and Sacred Heart (Nov. 2).
