HAMPTON, Va.- Charleston women's basketball finished the weekend 2-0 after taking down Hampton on Tuesday, February 25, 70-58.

HOW IT HAPPENED

A slow start for the Cougars left the game tied after the first frame. Back-to-back jumpers from Sophia Tougas kickstarted the scoring for Charleston in the second quarter.
Entering the second half with a one point lead, the Cougars outscored the Pirates 19-11 in the final frame to grab the win.
Taylor Barbot added eight points in the fourth quarter to help secure the win as Taryn Barbot grabbed five boards and two steals.
Four Cougars reached double-digits in the victory. Charleston controlled the glass outrebounding their opponent 50-36.
CofC improves to 10-4 in conference play and 19-6 on the season.

LEADING COUGARS

Taryn Barbot led the team with 18 points on the day, supported by a perfect 8-for-8 performance at the free throw line. Barbot secured a double-double in the matchup with 10 boards.
Also earning a double-double was Lara Rohkohl with 12 points and 13 rebounds. With eight offensive rebounds on the day, Rohkohl holds the title for most offensive rebounds in a season in program history.
Taylor Barbot tallied 14 points on the day with six rebounds and four steals.
