AUBURN, Ala. - The College of Charleston men's golf team finished in seventh place at the NCAA Auburn Regional at the Auburn University Club. The Cougars climbed back from tenth place on day one, finishing ten strokes back from the cut line.
Auburn, Texas A&M, UCLA, Purdue, and Georgia Tech will advance to the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championship along with Claes Borregaard from Kennesaw State. Charleston ended as the top mid-major team in the field.
Kieron van Wyk led the Cougars with a T12 finish in his last collegiate tournament. He totaled the sixth most birdies in the field sinking three during the final round.Â

Tim Bertenbreiter posted his lowest round of the regional on Wednesday with a 2-over 74 to finish T43. Fellow senior
Nevill Ruiter played a bogey-free back nine to cap off his collegiate career.Â
Charleston ends the 2024-2025 season ranked No. 62 in the country, making back-to-back regional appearances for the first time since 2021 and 2022 and the program's first-ever at-large appearance in the NCAA Regionals. The NCAA Auburn Regional marked the Cougars' tenth overall appearance in a regional.
