CHARLESTON, S.C. – Graduate student Izzy Marinelli hit .545 with 13 kills as College of Charleston swept Quinnipiac (25-20, 25-16, 25-18) in the second day of the Steve Baumrind Invitational Saturday evening in TD Arena.

CofC (5-4) hit .319 across the match, averaging 45 kills per set.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST QUINNIPIAC:

Sophomore Emma Duffield had nine kills and seven digs in the victory.
Charleston hit .393 in the second set, tallying 14 kills with just three attack errors.
Freshman Caroline Noonan hit .368 with nine kills and a solo block.
The Cougars held the Bobcats to a .165 hitting percentage with freshman Jumana Martin tallying 14 digs.

OF NOTE:

Charleston improves to 2-0 in the series with Quinnipiac.
Marinelli has 10-plus kills in four consecutive matches.
Marinelli also recorded her fifth game of the season with at least 10 kills and a .400 attacking percentage or better. She entered the season with just three matches with the line in her collegiate career.
Noonan reached 100 kills on the season in the match becoming the first CofC true freshman with 100 since Lauren Freed in 2016.
Martin has a service ace in all nine contests to begin her college career.
