
Reeves Takeover Leads Cougars to Victory Over Elon

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Christian Reeves career afternoon helped lead the College of Charleston men's basketball team to an 80-70 win over Elon on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Cougars move to 13-8 overall and 6-2 in CAA play.

- The Cougars found their offensive rhythm early, shooting 67% from the field on a 8-0 run through the opening four minutes. The Charleston defense followed suit, holding Elon without a basket for nearly four minutes during the same stretch.

- Charleston had a response for every Elon attack in the first half, taking a seven-point lead with 14 minutes to play to enter the break up 35-27. Christian Reeves nearly recorded a double-double in the first half, recording 11 points and nine rebounds.
- Reeves notched the double-double, the third of his career, less than a minute into the second half. Charleston shot 60% from the field in the frame, never letting the Phoenix come within more than seven points throughout the remainder of the contest.

KEY COUGARS
- Reeves recorded his second straight game with a career-high performance, totaling 29 points and 18 rebounds. His 18 rebounds are tied for the seventh most in a single game in school history. He is the first CAA player since 2012 to produce at least 29 points and 18 rebounds against a Division I opponent.
- After catching fire in the second half, Colby Duggan finished with 17 points, three rebounds, and five assists.
- Martin Kalu added ten points and five rebounds.
- Jlynn Counter dished out a game-high six assists.
