CHARLESTON, S.C. – Christian Reeves career afternoon helped lead the College of Charleston men's basketball team to an 80-70 win over Elon on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Cougars move to 13-8 overall and 6-2 in CAA play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Cougars found their offensive rhythm early, shooting 67% from the field on a 8-0 run through the opening four minutes. The Charleston defense followed suit, holding Elon without a basket for nearly four minutes during the same stretch.

Charleston had a response for every Elon attack in the first half, taking a seven-point lead with 14 minutes to play to enter the break up 35-27. Christian Reeves nearly recorded a double-double in the first half, recording 11 points and nine rebounds.
Reeves notched the double-double, the third of his career, less than a minute into the second half. Charleston shot 60% from the field in the frame, never letting the Phoenix come within more than seven points throughout the remainder of the contest.

KEY COUGARS

Reeves recorded his second straight game with a career-high performance, totaling 29 points and 18 rebounds. His 18 rebounds are tied for the seventh most in a single game in school history. He is the first CAA player since 2012 to produce at least 29 points and 18 rebounds against a Division I opponent.
After catching fire in the second half, Colby Duggan finished with 17 points, three rebounds, and five assists.
Martin Kalu added ten points and five rebounds.
Jlynn Counter dished out a game-high six assists.
