
Cougars Earn Top Half Finishes at Fire Tower Project

Boone, N.C. - The College of Charleston men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Fire Tower Project race in Boone, N.C., hosted by Appalachian State, on Friday, October 2. The women's side finished fifth out of 14 teams, with the men finishing sixth out of 12.Â
Senior Abby Mogg led the way for the women's side, placing 11th and posting a new personal best 6k time of 21:39.8. Mogg was followed by Bella Hudson and Sofia Day, pacing just 0.3 seconds apart from one another and finishing 23rd and 24th with times of 22:23.3 and 22:23.6, respectively. Â
Callie Rohm and Gail Vaikutis rounded out the top five for Charleston, each earning top-35 finishes. Â
Sophomore Adrian Miller paced the men's side, placing 36th and posting an 8k time of 25:25.6. Andrew Catapano followed, posting a time of 25:46.4 to place 43rd. Freshman Greyson Brown and sophomore Thomas Flaig posted top-50 finishes, with Brown recording a new personal best 8k time of 26:05.5.Â
Eight Cougars posted personal best times between the two races.Â
Charleston returns to action Saturday, October 17, to compete in the Upstate Invitational hosted by USC Upstate. The women's 5k is set to begin at 9:00 am, with the men's 8k to begin at 9:45.
