Charleston Earns Top-10 Finishes at Upstate Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's and women's cross country teams each earned top-10 finishes at the Upstate Invitational, hosted by USC Upstate, on Saturday, October 17. The women's side finished sixth in a field of 36 teams, while the men recorded a 10th place finish out of 37.

Abby Mogg led the way on the women's side, earning a top-10 finish in a field of 309 runners to earn a new personal best 5k time of 17:39.1. The time marked the fourth best 5k time in Charleston program history.

Gail Vaikutis followed close behind, earning a new personal best 5k time of 18:11.5, shaving off 24 seconds from her last time competing at the Upstate Invitational in 2025.

Callie Rohm finished just 10 seconds after Vaikutis, recording a new personal best 5k time of 18:21.2. Another 20 seconds after their teammates, Bella Hudson and Sofia Day rounded out the top five for Charleston finishing in 18:29.6 and 18:31.9, respectively.

Thomas Flaig paced the men's side, placing 40th and posting an 8k time of 25:06.1. Adrian Miller followed, recording a time of 25:13.8 to place 50th.

Junior Andrew Catapano and freshman Greyson Brown paced close behind, with Brown recording a new personal best 8k time of 25:37.9.

The Cougars return to action on Friday, October 30, to compete in the CAA Championship in Farmingdale, N.Y.
