#4 Charleston Beats #3 Sacred Heart and #1 Dartmouth

CHARLESTON, S.C. – No. 4 College of Charleston equestrian defeated No. 3 Sacred Heart and No. 1 Dartmouth at home, improving to 4-3 in NCEA.
Charleston tied Sacred Heart, 4-4 and won the tiebreaker by a score of 812-803. The next day, the Cougars took down the top program, beating the Big Green 6-4.
Against Sacred Heart, junior Camilla Murray earned MOP in fences, posting a score of 87. CofC trailed 2-1 going into the break before grabbing three of the five points in the flat to level the meet at four. Murray, along with seniors Olivia Welsh and Lainie Rubin earned points in the discipline for Charleston.
In Sunday's meet, the Cougars came out hot, taking four of a possible five points in fences, highlighted by senior Maddi Cardelli's 89 score, which was good for MOP. Murray, Welsh and senior Olivia Lonneman also took home points for Charleston.
CofC helped secure the victory as sophomore Samantha Aisenberg and Rubin both scored points in the first two rounds of the flat, helping Charleston take down the top ranked program in NCEA Single Discipline.
NCEA is back in action against Lynchburg and Centenary Feb. 27 and 28 at White Horses.
