
Charleston IHSA Region 3 Champions

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston's IHSA equestrian team won the Region 3 Championship at Lander, advancing to the Zone 5 Zones in March.
"Extremely proud and excited for this team; their will sheer will and desire to win carried them to the finish line this season, earning the IHSA Region 3 High Point Team Championship," said head coach Natasha Vitkovic. "Coach Hewitt and I are thrilled for this team and the numerous individual riders who will participate in the IHSA Regional and Zone Championships in the months ahead. Our goal this year, is to make it to the IHSA Nationals in Tryon, N.C., with as many student athletes as possible!"
Sophomore Clara Bowman won Groom of the Year while qualifying for regionals in Intermediate Fences and Flat in the second day of the show. Freshman Lily Wilson also qualified for Open Flat while sophomore Emma Heatherton qualified for Limit Fences and Flat, sophomore Meredith Miramonti qualified for Limit Flat, freshman Lily Kress-Davies qualified for Novice and senior Maggie Armes qualified for Intro.
NCEA is back in action against Lynchburg and Centenary Feb. 27 and 28 at White Horses while the IHSA squad competes in Regionals March 7 in Greenwood, S.C.
