Eubanks, Cougars Win Wexford Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's golf team won the Wexford Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Wexford GC in Hilton Head. Charleston had a dominant outing, winning the team title by nine strokes over second place Xavier.
It marks the Cougars first team win since last season's White Sands Bahamas Invitational title.
Junior Miles Eubanks won his first individual collegiate title with a 9-under performance. He took an early lead with a 6-under opening round, the top round of the tournament. Eubanks led the field in total birdies with 13 and ranked second in both par 3 (2.83) and par 4 scoring (3.90).
Johan Bredenkamp matched Eubanks' 13 total birdies to lead the field. Both Bredenkamp and Eubanks played bogey free second rounds. Rookie Jules Lauer sank Charleston's only eagle of the tournament on hole 15 in the final round.
The Cougars return to action next month at the General Hackler Championship hosted by Coastal Carolina March 15-17.
