RICHMOND, Va. - College of Charleston freshman Carys Fennessy has been named the CAA Golfer of the Week after her performance at the Briar's Creek Invitational. This is the first weekly conference honor of Fennessy's career.
Fennessy captured a top-five finish at the Briar's Creek Invitational, going nearly bogey-free in her 36 holes of action. The Cougars' freshman shot a 3-under 69 in the opening round, featuring birdies on four of the back nine holes. That momentum carried over into round two as the Dover, N.H., native sank for par on 17-of-18 holes, with her lone difference being a birdie on the par-5 seventh hole. Fennessy finished at 4-under to tie for fourth-place mark and secure All-Tournament honors.
