von Finckenstein's Career Low Leads Women's Golf Through Opening Round at NCAA Louisville Regional

SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. - Emilie von Finckenstein's collegiate low 4-under round led the College of Charleston women's golf team through the opening day of the NCAA Louisville Regional at the University of Louisville Golf Course.
The Cougars are in T8 (+1) after the first round, just seven strokes behind leaders Houston and Ole Miss through a tightly contested 18 holes. The top four teams and top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the championship.
von Finckenstein sank five birdies with just one bogey to open play, ranking second in the field in par 4 scoring (3.70, -3) on her way to a new collegiate low round of 68. The junior is one stroke behind individual leader Kajsalotta Svarvar from Ole Miss.
Adrian Anderson and Carys Fennessy both turned in even par cards to sit at T23. Anderson recorded four birdies on the day.
The Cougars will tee off the second round tomorrow, May 12, at 8:55 a.m. playing with Kansas State and Iowa State.
