4x100m Relay Sets Program Record at CAA Championships

ELON, N.C. – Charleston track and field placed ninth with 23.5 points at the CAA Championships May 15 and 16 in Elon, N.C.
Charleston competed in 12 events and two relays at the meet.
Riley Fisher, Gabby Brailsford, Trinity Jones and Jackie Sides placed eighth in the 4x100m relay and ran a new program record of 47.19. Fisher also competed in the 100m dash and ran a new personal best of 12.40.
Andie Harding placed in the top 10 in the 800m with a new personal best of 2:12.96. Sydney Peer also competed in the 800m and ran a new personal best of 2:18.11.
In the 1500m, Katie O'Toole placed 14th and ran a personal best of 4:34.21.
For the field events, Charleston had two podium finishes. Elaine Zhai placed second in the pole vault clearing 4.03m for a new personal best. Kinsley Allen placed third in the high jump marking 1.71m.
Charleston track and field will next compete at the NCAA East Regional in Lexington, Ky. May 27-30.
