Charleston Athletic Fund Celebrates Record Breaking Year

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Athletic Fund (CAF) is proud to announce a record-breaking fundraising year for College of Charleston Athletics. The CAF raised $7.5M in cash contributions for the 2025-26 fiscal year, a 15% increase from $6.39M in 2024-25. The previous record was set in 2023-24 with $6.6M raised.
"This type of milestone cannot be achieved alone," said Dex Blank, Senior Associate AD for Development/Executive Director of the Charleston Athletic Fund. "We have all of our generous donors to thank for helping us reach this achievement and for continuing to enhance our athletics programs year after year."
CAF achieved this milestone through their annual giving initiatives, special fundraising events, sport-specific giving programs and other initiatives. Funding from the Charleston Athletic Fund provides financial resources to more than 350 student-athletes competing in 19 varsity sports at The College.
"We also must recognize all our coaches for their tireless effort to raise money for their programs and promote Charleston Athletics in such a way that donors, fans, alumni, parents, and friends of The College want to invest in the experience we are providing our student-athletes. We would not be successful without their buy-in and support as well," added Blank.
"On behalf of our student-athletes, coaches and staff, I want to thank our incredible donors for their continued generosity in what was another record-breaking year for CAF," said Director of Athletics Matt Roberts. "The Charleston community continues to come together to support our student-athletes by making a true difference in both their athletic and academic success. The commitment of our donors does not go unnoticed and is felt every day by our student-athletes."
The Charleston Athletic Fund exists to provide the resources necessary for the overall success of College of Charleston Athletics and our student-athletes. The CAF allows for Charleston supporters, fans, alumni, and friends of The College to join forces with our coaches and student-athletes for the advancement of our programs. These efforts are to help ensure that our student-athletes can pursue success at the highest level on the field, in the classroom, and within the community during their time in Charleston and beyond.
