NORWALK, Conn. - The #2 College of Charleston NCEA team battled during opening weekend, ultimately falling to #6 Sacred Heart and #4 Dartmouth 5-4.

The Cougars took on Sacred Heart to begin the road trip, with Ella Collins (76-69) and Samantha Elliot (84-74) earning the point in fences to enter the flat tied at 2-2. Lainie Rubin (83-73) and Samantha Aisenberg (79-77) secured points on the flat as the Cougars were edged 3-2 to end the competition. Aisenberg secured her first MOP honor of the season on the flat.

Charleston continued the weekend at Dartmouth, delivering their best showing away effort. Rubin (83-77) and Elliot (84-78) again secured points for the Cougars, this time on the fences, while Aisenberg (84-79) and Daphne Stavig (85-83) won their draws on the flat.

The Cougars return to NCEA action at home on October 17-18, hosting Sewanee and Berry.
