SUMMER (2012)
Earned a spot on final 12-man Great Britain National Team roster for the 2012 London Olympic Games…Became the first-ever men’s basketball player in school history to earn a spot on an Olympic team roster…Lone collegian and youngest player on the UK squad which also included current and former NBA players in Luol Deng and Pops Mensah-Bonsu…Scored a team-high 19 points in an exhibition overtime loss to Nigeria while training with the national team in Houston, Texas…Was one of only two current collegians selected to an Olympic team among the 12 countries who qualified for the Games next to Australia National Team member Matthew Dellavedova of Saint Mary’s (Calif.).

JUNIOR (2011-12)
Named to the 2012 All-Southern Conference Second Team by the league’s media…NABC All-District 22 Second Team selection…One of the initial candidates considered for the 2012 Bob Cousy Award which is given annually to the nation’s top point guard…One of two players on the team to play and start in all 31 games of the season…Averaged 13.0 points and 2.9 rebounds per game…Ranked second on the team in scoring, first in assists (171), first in steals (58) and tied for first in three-pointers made (60)…Turned in his first 100+ assist season of his career and distributed five-or-more assists in 23 contests…Ranked second in the SoCon and No. 31 nationally in assists per game (5.5 avg.) and third in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.06)… Also ranked first in the league and No. 57 nationally in steals per game (1.9 avg.)…Registered a career-and game-high 32 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the floor, 5-of-9 from beyond the arc and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe against Elon (2/2/12) which was the beginning of a career-best six-game double-digit scoring streak…Dished out a career-high 10 assists versus UCF at the Battle 4 Atlantis (11/24/11)…Had 16 games with two turnovers or less including a stretch in the month of January where he boasted an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.47 (47-19)…Scored in double figures on 23 occasions with two 20-point outings…Knocked down 25 points versus Chattanooga (12/3/11) and 24 points at Appalachian State (2/4/12).

SUMMER (2011)
Competed for UK Under-23 Team going 2-1 against Germany in the summer of 2011…Was one of two players (lone collegian) to be called up to the men’s national team training camp…Played in the London Invitational against France, Croatia, Serbia, China and Australia…Averaged 7.5 points and 1.0 assists in four games played…His best performance came against Serbia where he went 5-of-10 from the floor including 2-of-3 from three-point land, scoring 12 points…Made final cut for the 12-player Great Britain National Team roster that traveled to Lithuania for the 2011 European Championships…Secured UK’s first wins at the tournament by defeating Poland and Portugal.

SOPHOMORE (2010-11)
Saw action in 36 games of the season with two starts against Georgia Southern (12/4/10) and East Tennessee State (12/7/10)…Averaged 5.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game…Led the team in steals (37)…Had a 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio as a back-up to starting point guard Donavan Monroe…Knocked down a career-high 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor and four steals versus Georgia Southern (12/4/10)…Dished out a career-high seven assists against Western Carolina (1/20/11)…Turned in three double-figure scoring games and led the team in assists on six occasions during the season…Played a career-best 30 minutes versus Rhode Island in the subregional round of the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer (11/19/10).

FRESHMAN (2009-10)
Played in all 34 games of the season averaging 4.7 points per game…Came off the bench seeing 16.8 minutes of action with a 1.41 assist-to-turnover ratio…Made his collegiate debut playing 14 minutes and scoring three points at Coastal Carolina (11/13/09)…Registered seven points and two assists versus Davidson (12/5/09)…Had six points and two steals at UNCG (12/7/09)...Knocked down 13 points in only 17 minutes of play against Charleston Southern (12/16/09)...Contributed six points at Clemson (12/19/09)...Brought down a career-high three rebounds versus SMU at the Diamond Head Classic...Drained two crucial three-pointers for six points at Samford (1/14/10)...Posted a career-high 14 points at Georgia Southern (1/30/10)...Dished out a career-best four assists at VCU in the CBI Quarterfinals (3/22/10).

Andrew Derek Lawrence…Born June 4, 1990 in London, England…Son of Renaldo and Janis Lawrence…Has one younger sister, Jessica…His father played for former CofC head coach Bobby Cremins at Appalachian State from 1978-79 and was drafted by the San Diego Clippers in the eighth round of the 1979 NBA Draft, but enjoyed a successful professional playing career overseas and is the fourth-leading scorer in the history of the English leagues…His uncle, David Lawrence, also played college basketball at ASU from 1983-84…Holds U.S. and British dual citizenship…Has immediate family including his paternal grandmother and cousins who live in nearby St. Matthews, S.C…Chose CofC over Memphis, Cincinnati and ASU…Public health major at College of Charleston.
