Kyle Denzel

Kyle Denzel

Kyle Denzel was named Deputy Director of Athletics at the College of Charleston in July 2023. In this role, he oversees all external areas of the department, including the Charleston Athletic Fund, corporate sponsorships, marketing, licensing, communications, and ticketing. He is the NIL liaison for the Charleston Edge Collective.  He also serves as the sport supervisor for the men’s and women’s golf programs.

Prior to his current role, Denzel started up Charleston Sports Properties in 2018—the multimedia rights partnership between the College of Charleston and Learfield. He led the initiative as General Manager for five years before moving in-house to join the athletics department in 2023.

Denzel originally joined Learfield as a Vice President in March 2014, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in collegiate, professional, and corporate sports marketing and sales. As a Regional Vice President for four years, he provided senior oversight to select collegiate relationships within Learfield’s West Region structure.

His extensive sports experience prior to Learfield includes sales oversight for the rights holders representing the University of Virginia, University of Michigan, and the Tennessee Titans. In addition, he was a certified NFL agent and the founder of Sports Plus, LLC—a comprehensive sports marketing and sponsorship consultancy.

Denzel brings extensive expertise in revenue generation, strategic negotiations, and corporate partnership development. He exceeded revenue goals for corporate sponsorships in all seven years leading this area and played a key role in selling out men’s basketball season tickets for the last two seasons—the first time in school history. Under his supervision the last two years, the Charleston Athletic Fund continues to exceed its fundraising goals and achieve record donations for the athletic department. In 2025, both the men’s and women’s golf teams earned berths in the NCAA Regionals.

A graduate of Marquette University, Kyle enjoys life in Charleston with his wife, Alicia, and their four children—Bella, Emme, Perrin, and John.
