Charleston improves to 15-7, while the Bulldogs drop to 10-7 on the year.
Rachel Magory took a third set tiebreaker to take the win over Vesna Popacat the number one singles, but the number two, three, four and six singles took the straight set wins. Bulldogs Alexis Panton picked up the lone win with the 7-5, 6-4 victory over Andreea Niculescu at the number five spot. Malina played at the number three spot for Charleston.
The Cougars swept the doubles matches with 8-1, 8-3 and 8-4 wins to earn the point to open play with the 1-0 lead.
Charleston travels to Georgia Southern April 16th for a 2:00 PM match before going to S.C State April 17th to close out the regular season.
