The College of Charleston drops its second straight to go to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the Southern Conference. Western Carolina recovered from its loss to Radford last week to improve to 7-6 and 3-3.
Following Bryant's 10 points, was Erick Irick with nine points and Erika Smith with a career-high eight points. Marketta Talley pulled down five rebounds to pace the Cougars. Leading the way for the Catamounts was Lori Tanner with 13 points. Other Catamounts in double figures were Shaketia Barnes with 12 and Jessika Johnson and Jennifer Gardner with 10 points apiece. Gardner also had nine boards to lead the team.
The Cougars shot 39.7 from the field while the Catamounts shot 44.4. Western Carolina led in rebounds, 47-33 and turnovers, 19-17. The Cougars had 10 steals to the Ctamounts' six.
The College of Charleston next travels to Elon Jan. 8th for a 4:30 PM contest, while Western Carolina hosts Chattanooga the 8th at 5:00 PM.
