#articleRelated { display: none !important; } Second-seed Davidson moved into the finals of the 2005 Southern Conference Women's Tennis Championships with a 4-2 win over the third-seeded College of Charleston Friday afternoon in Charleston, SC.

The win also marked the first-ever victory for the Wildcats (20-5) against the Cougars (18-6).

The 'Cats picked up the doubles point with wins at the number one and number two positions. For Davidson, Kelly Fillnow and Meghan Fillnow downed Gabriella Moreira and Lauren Stewart, 8-3 at the number one spot. The duo of Meggie Patterson and Kelsey Linville handed the College of Charleston's Rachel Magory and Chelsea Albertz an 8-4 decision at the #2 spot for the 'Cats. Charleston's Priscilla Roberts and Maxine Capewell picked up a doubles wins against Kim Whelan and Sarah Borkowski of Davidson.

In singles action, Linville, Fillnow and Levitt all scored wins to secure the win for the Wildcats.

With the win, Davidson will now play top-seeded Furman in the finals of the Southern Conference Women's Tennis Championships on Sunday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m.
