Cougar Men and Women's Tennis Victorious

The College of Charleston men's and women's tennis teams earned victories this afternoon as the men's team defeated Morehead State 5-0, while the women's team earned the 4-1 win over the Eagles at the tennis center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
The Cougars win their 14th in a row to go to 14-1 on the year, while the women improve to 9-7 overall.
The Charleston men's team dropped number two doubles but won at number one and three to take the doubles point heading into singles play. Charleston was able to take four singles matches in straight sets and clinch the 5-0 win before rain left the number five and six singles unfinished.
The Charleston women opened the match with a loss of the doubles point, falling at number one and two, while picking up the 8-2 win at number three. Charleston was able to rebound and take the straight set wins at number one, three, four, and five to clinch the win. Chelsea Albertz played at number one and defeated Mariana Weschenfelder, 6-3 and 7-5, at number one before rains came in and ended the rest of the match.
The College of Charleston men's team travels to Appalachian State Saturday, March 25th for a 1:00 PM match, while the women's team hosts Davidson, Sunday, March 26th at 1:00. The Eagles host Eastern Illinois Friday, March 31st.
