Cougars Edge Terriers, 4-3 in Women's Tennis Action

The College of Charleston women's tennis team won three singles matches and took the doubles point to earn the 4-3 win over the Wofford Terriers in action this afternoon at the Reeves Tennis Center on the campus of Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C.
Wofford drops to 12-9 overall and 5-2 in the SoCon with the loss, while College of Charleston improves to 12-9 overall and 7-1 in the league.
The Cougars earned the doubles point, sweeping the three matches after taking number one, 9-7, number two, 8-2 and number three, 8-4.
Maxine Capewell fell to Ellen Rogers, 6-1, 6-2, at number singles one but Chelsea Albertz, winner of her last 12 of 13 matches, took Tara Hartness, 6-4, 6-4, at number two singles. Amanda Becker cruised past Cayley Wetzig at number three, 6-1, 6-1, while Jenna Marks held on in a close match at number six, 7-5, 6-1. Wofford took number four and five singles matches, defeating Ashley Finnegan and Payten Ellignton, respectively.
The Terriers will next play in at Davidson in a 2:00 Tuesday, APril 11th, meeting, while the Cougars travel to Furman Staurday, April 8th, for a 12:00 match
