
CofC Sweeps Jacksonville State, 7-0, in Women?s Tennis

The College of Charleston women's tennis team swept Jacksonville State, 7-0, at the Patriots Point Tennis Center in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. on Tuesday. The win snaps the Cougars' three-match losing streak.
The victory improves the Cougars' record to 9-4 overall, while the Gamecocks fall to 8-7.
The Cougars won all nine of their matches without dropping a set.
CofC won all three of the doubles matches to earn one team point. The doubles team of Holly Dowse and Anna Lee Evans improved to 9-3 on the season with an impressive 8-0 victory over Kimberly Ferris and Layla Abby of Jacksonville State in the #2 doubles match.
Amanda Becker improved to 8-1 on the season in singles matches with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Abby in the #5 singles match. Chelsea Albertz, Link Leskosky, Laura Borza, Amanda Becker and Maxine Capewell were the other Cougars to win singles matches.
CofC will return to action on Mar. 22 against Bradley and Charleston Southern at the Patriots Point Tennis Center beginning at 1 p.m. Jacksonville State will host Mercer in Jacksonville, Fla. on Mar. 28 beginning at 1:30 p.m.
