
CofC Women?s Tennis Grabs 4-3 Win at No. 67 Davidson

The victory improves CofC's record to 15-5 overall and 6-0 in the SoCon. The Cougars have won seven of their last eight matches. Davidson falls to 15-5 and 5-1 in the Southern Conference.
The Cougars won two out of the three doubles matches to earn one team point. The CofC team of Holly Dowse and Anna Lee Evans improved its doubles record to 14-4 this season with an 8-3 win over Kim Whelan and Kelsey Linville of Davidson in the No. 1 doubles match. CofC's other doubles victory came courtesy of the team of Chelsea Albertz and Julia Howard, who stayed undefeated for the season and won its fourth match of the season, with an 8-3 victory over Lora Dushanova and Michele Fanney.
CofC won three out of the six singles matches to clinch the victory. The last singles match to conclude the competition, a 7-6 (9-7), 3-6, 7-5 win by CofC's Laura Borza over Virginia Berry in the No. 3 singles match, secured the victory for the Cougars. Borza has now won nine consecutive singles matches and her season record stands at 15-3. Dowse won her sixth straight singles match and improved her record to 11-2 with a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) triumph over Whelan in the No. 5 singles match. Evans won the other singles match for the Cougars with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Teresa Wang.
