The College of Charleston track and field had a solid day at Chanticleer Classic on Saturday in Conway, S.C.
Wells Trompeter had a school record 2:20.42, followed by Amy Laughlin with a time of 2:22.20 ? a new personal best ? in the 800-meter run.
Summer Chambless had a javelin throw of 93-05 feet for a Top 10 performance, and she tied the school record in the pole vault with an 11-05 ? mark.
Alicia Sims and Heather Collier both had marks of 5-01 in the high jump, and Dominique Boone jumped 36-05 in the triple jump for a fourth place finish. Elizabeth Sanders had personal best in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:14.88.
The 4x100 meter team finished second with a time of :50.73, and the 4x400 meter relay team of Emily Jackson, Collier, Amy Laughlin and Boone set a new school record with a time of 4:02.20.
The Cougars will face the Southern Conference field in Boone, N.C., at the SoCon Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Apr. 21.
