
CofC Downs Elon In Women's Tennis, 4-3

Anna Lee Evans' straight set win at No. 4 singles helped the College of Charleston to a 4-3 Southern Conference win over Elon in women's tennis action before 179 at the College of Charleston Tennis Center at Patriots Point on Saturday.
Charleston, which plays host to SoCon foe Chattanooga at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, improved to 11-2 overall and 3-0 in league play. Elon fell to 9-6 and 1-2.
Evans beat Jenn Tucci 6-2, 6-0 while teammates Amanda Becker and Kinsey Casey also earned victories. Becker downed Whitney Butcher 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Casey earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over Hayley Wahl at No. 6
The Cougars won the doubles point when Holly Dowse and Keely Mulligan teamed to win, 8-6, at No. 2 doubles, and Chelsea Albertz and Anna Lee Evans won, 8-5, at No. 3 doubles.
Ball crews from the Family Circle Cup worked the match.
