
Davidson Downs CofC, 4-2; Cougars Finish 23-4

The 2nd-seeded College of Charleston women's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to 3rd-seed Davidson in the semifinals of the 2008 Southern Conference Championship at The Citadel's Earle Tennis Center on Saturday.
The Cougars end their most successful season as an NCAA member with a 23-4 record.
After Davidson claimed the doubles point, Charleston's Link Leskosky tied the match at 1-1 when she beat Michele Fanney 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Laura Borza's 6-3, 6-3 win over Virginia Berry in No. 2 play gave the Cougars a 2-1 lead in the match.
Davidson got wins from Kelsey Linville at No. 1 singles, by Kim Whelan at No. 4 and the Wildcats secured the match when Meredith Skeeters edged Anna Lee Evans 7-6, 3-6, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.
