CofC Downs Coastal Carolina, 6-1 in Home Opener

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. ? The College of Charleston women's tennis team defeated Coastal Carolina, 6-1 today in the team's 2009 dual match home opener at the CofC Tennis Center at Patriots Point.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 1-1 on the season, while Coastal Carolina falls to 0-1.
The Cougars started things off with a sweep of doubles play, earning a point. In singles, the Cougars won five of six matches.
In the number one spot, Link Leskosky earned a three set win (4-6, 6-1, 1-0). After another three set win by Laura Borza at number two (6-3, 4-6, 6-2), Caroline Newman, Kinsey Casey and Keely Mulligan were straight set winners in the three, five and six spots, respectively.
The College of Charleston returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 31st when they host Presbyterian beginning at 9:30 a.m.
