
N.C. State Women's Tennis Beats CofC, 6-1

The North Carolina State women's tennis team beat College of Charleston, 6-1, at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on Wednesday.
The Pack swept the doubles matches and snagged wins in five of the six singles matches. N.C. State is 3-8 on the season. The Cougars fell to 8-3. The Cougars host SoCon Appalachian State at 1 p.m. on Friday.
Keely Mulligan earned the College of Charleston's only point with a 6-1, 6-1, victory over Pender Sessoms at No. 6 singles.
The Pack started the match with a sweep of all three doubles bouts. Freshmen Diana Mortlock and Sessoms beat Caroline Newman and Mulligan, 8-2, at No. 3. The No. 35 doubles team of junior Berkeley Brock and sophomore Lenka Hojckova stayed on top of Holly Dowse and Kinsey Casey to secure the doubles point for NC State with an 8-6 win at No. 1.
Neils Barringer and junior Daria Petrovic completed the sweep with an 8-5 victory over Laura Borza and Anna Lee Evans at No. 2.
Both Hojckova and Petrovic split the first two sets, sending the competitions into a third. No. 113 Hojckova notched the win over Dowse, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 1, and Petrovic defeated Newman, 6-2, 1-6, 6-2, at No. 3. Mortlock controlled Casey and took the win, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 5. Brock downed Borza, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 2, and Barringer locked in the win with a swift 6-4, 6-2, win over Evans at No. 4.
