
CofC Track & Field Competes at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. ? The College of Charleston track & field team took part in the Raleigh Relays this weekend on the campus of N.C. State.
Top finishers in the competition were Emily Smith, who posted a 1.70-meter effort in the high jump to finish fourth, while Kristen Wolfe finished ninth in the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:49.78. Jessica Cumbee earned a 10th place finish in the pole vault with a personal best 3.25-meter effort and Cara Browning posted a time of 19:56.97 in the 5000-meter run to place 12th. Rounding out the top individual finishers on the day was Isabel Boersma, who ran the 100-meter hurdles in 15.84.
Also, Mary Zolga broke a school-record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.94, while in the 4x1500-meter relay, the team of Wolfe, Emily Nagle, Callen Powers and Grace Loba set a school record with a time of 20:04.07.
In the 4x400 relay, the team of Laura Call, Ariel Hatcher, Alyssa D'Orazio and Zolga placed ninth in a time of 3:55.02, while in the 1600-meter sprint medley, the Cougars posted a school-record time of 4:15.93.
On the men's side, David Lamberson placed 10th in section IV of the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:24.10, while Trevor Sprague finished 15th in the section III of the event with a time of 15:32.69. Christian Bailey also had a storng finish in the 10,000-meters placing 18th in a time of 31:53.48.
The Cougars return to action on April 3rd when they take part in the Duke Invitational.
