Whittaker Paces Cougars at LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. - The College of Charleston women's golf team carded a second-round score of 326 (+38) including a team-best five-over par 77 from junior Leigh Whittaker (Baden-Baden, Germany) after the second day of play at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic held Saturday at the University Club.
It marked Whittaker's second-straight day to pace the Cougars with a 77. She made up for three bogeys in the early portion of the round by playing even through all but one hole in the back nine. She is currently tied for 38th on the individual leaderboard.
The Cougars are among a tough 21-team field including 15 top 50-ranked programs, nine of which are currently in the top 25 and four in the top 10. Top-ranked and current team leader Alabama is tied with No. 26 Arkansas and No. 7 Virginia with a two-round score of 601 (+25).
