
Newman and McAmis Advance At Carolina Regionals

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The College of Charleston women's tennis team was represented by two players on the second day of play at the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships.
Both hailing from Greensboro, N.C., senior Christin Newman and freshman Brooke McAmis were both able to advance past the opening Round of 64 and into tomorrow's Round of 32. Newman was able to dispatch Ana Maria Ortiz of Campbell in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3, while McAmis took care of Stacia Kissell from Western Carolina, 6-4, 6-2.
The duo will get back into action tomorrow morning against opponents from Duke. Newman will face Esther Goldfeld at 10:30 a.m. (ET) and McAmis will square off against No. 3 seed Hanna Mar at 11 a.m. (ET).
