
Klinar Sets School Record in Javelin in Weems Baskin Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Sophomore Christine Klinar set a new school record in the javelin throw as the College of Charleston women's track & field team competed in the Weems Baskin Invitational Saturday at the Weems Baskin track on the campus of South Carolina.
Klinar placed fifth in the competition with a throw of 38.12 meters (125-01 feet) to break her own record of 37.59 meters set last year.
Senior Emily Smith finished fourth in the high jump with a clearance of five feet, five inches.
Sophomore Dena O'Brien won the 1,500 meter run as she crossed the finish line in 4:38.30.
Senior Kristen Wolfe, competed in the 400-meter hurdles for the first time and finished 14th in 1:06.41.
Due to weather the final three running events of the meet were not completed.
Up next the Cougars will compete in the Raleigh Relays and North Florida Invitational March 30-31.
