
Johnston Breaks School Record at Weems Baskin Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sophomore Mackenzie Johnston highlighted the day for the men's cross country team at the Weems Baskin Invitational.
Johnston ran the third fastest time in school history in the 5,000-meter run as he finished second-place in 15:19.00. Johnston came back the next day to finish second-place in the 800-meter run and set a school record in 1:57.51.
Daniel Lenahan and Tyler Wood set career-bests in the 5,000-meter run in 16:47.05 and 17:06.46 respectively. For Lenahan it was 21 seconds better than his previous best and 14 seconds better for Wood.
Next weekend the Cougars will compete at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C., March 29-30.
