Nico Rittmeyer | Men's Soccer | Junior | Savannah, Ga. – Junior Nico Rittmeyer scored a pair of goals to lead the College of Charleston men's soccer team past Seton Hall, 3-1, in their season-opener last Friday.
The Cougar forward converted a header late in the first half that put CofC on top 1-0 and added an insurance goal in the 80th minute to seal the 3-1 victory. The 2015 captain led the Cougars to a 1-1 record over the weekend and leads the team in points and shots on goal.
Jessica Schifer | Women's Soccer | Freshman | Aiken, S.C. – Schifer was named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week for her role in the Cougars' pair of victories in Virginia over the weekend.
The Aiken, S.C., native was instrumental in the Cougars first victory of the season when she blasted an overtime game-winning goal against VCU on Friday. The game-winner came just a few minutes into overtime when she split multiple defenders and struck the ball into the bottom left corner of the net to give CofC the 1-0 victory.
Schifer was also a force on the Cougar frontline in Sunday's 3-0 win over Radford. She tallied six shot attempts against the Highlanders and leads the squad with 11 shots through the first three games of 2015.
