Clemson IHSA Show Up Next For Equestrians

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Clemson IHSA Show is up next for the College of Charleston equestrian team on Sunday, Oct. 23 at Garrison Arena in Pendleton, S.C.
The Cougars are coming off an impressive showing last weekend at the two-day South Carolina IHSA Show where they earned high-point team honors on day one and reserve champion honors on day two.
This weekend's group will be a mix of new riders with a solid group of returners including freshman Annika Vilcins (Wilmington, N.C.), who was a blue-ribbon winner last weekend at USC in Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter.
"We have an impressive group showing at Clemson on Sunday," CofC Head Coach Bob Story said. "After two incredibly long days at USC last weekend, this group went right back to work and have prepared well for the upcoming competition at Clemson.
"This fall, we really haven't had a break-out performance even though the team has put in remarkably great rides. I tell the team, 'They don't win, because they want to. They win because they train to win.'"
