CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's golf team will tee it up one more time this fall at the 2016 East Bay Deli Classic hosted by Charleston Southern on Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort's Turtle Point course on Kiawah Island, S.C.
The Cougars are looking to build off of the momentum of three-consecutive Top-5 finishes at The Invitational at The Ocean Course, The Grove Intercollegiate and the Bearcat Invitational. The 54-hole tournament runs through Tuesday and features 22 teams including 10 programs inside of Golfstat.com's Top-100 rankings.
CofC is the highest-ranked team (No. 48) in a strong tournament field that includes host CSU, Augusta, Abilene Christian, Campbell, Coastal Carolina, Gardner-Webb, Francis Marion, Jacksonville State, Lipscomb, Loyola University Maryland, Maryland, Memphis, Nebraska, Presbyterian, Radford, Rutgers, Tennessee, Troy, USC Upstate, Winthrop and Wofford.
"It has been over a month since we were in action," CofC Head Coach Mark McEntire said. "I've been very pleased with the fall season that we've had and want to finish it off strong. We had a chance to win the last two tournaments we played in. I hope that we can get into that position again. We will be playing the same lineup this weekend and I'm looking forward to a big week from everyone and have it all come together."
The Cougars' starting lineup includes William Rainey (Charlotte, N.C.), senior Parker Derby (Columbus, Ga.), freshman Hunter Dunagan (Augusta, Ga.), freshman Logan Sowell (Kershaw, S.C.) and freshman Michael Sass (Louisville, Ky.). Freshman Jack Foyle (Madison, Conn.) will play as an individual.
Sunday's first round and Monday's second round will be a 10:00 a.m. (ET) shotgun start, while the final round on Tuesday is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. (ET) shotgun start. Live tournament scoring for all three rounds will be available at: www.Golfstat.com.
