ROCK HILL, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team (1-1) was deadly from the beyond the arc Wednesday night, as the Cougars knocked off the Winthrop Eagles (1-2) 95-64 in an historic offensive display.

• The Cougars' 95 points was the fourth-highest offensive output in the College of Charleston's Division I era, coming just six points shy of its record-performance of 101 points scored against William & Mary in the 2013-14 season. The College also matched its fourth-highest team steal total in a single game with 19, and registered its second-highest number of field goals made in a game (38).

• Breanna Bolden finished the night with a 22-3-3 on 8 of 12 shooting, adding six steals in 25 minutes of play. In addition, at 1172 career points, Bolden passed Lisa Schweers (1980-83) for No. 20 on the College's career scoring list. Through two games this season, Bolden is averaging a jaw-dropping 7 steals per game.

• Tanisha Brown continued her stellar CofC debut, registering her second double-double in as many games. Brown only needed 19 minutes of action to score 20 points on 7 of 10 shooting, grab ten boards, and paw away five steals.

"I thought Tanisha played very relaxed and extremely aggressive tonight," head coach Candice M. Jackson said. "For her to start her career that way is a great sign, because I know she'll only continue to play better for us."

• Darien Huff set career-highs in scoring (19) and blocks (2) while and matched her career-best in dimes (5). The sophomore demonstrated that she has an affinity for playing the Eagles, as her previous career-high 18 points was scored against Winthrop last season. Huff was deadly from outside, going 3 of 6 from deep.

• Dajah Logan matched a career-best two steals, and joined her fellow-starters in double figures with 11 points on 5 of 11 shooting. She also pulled down eight boards, just one shy of her career-best.

• As a team, the Cougars were excellent from the field, not just in general (49.4% on 38 of 77 shooting), but from behind the arc as well. The College went 10 for 21 from deep, as five different players shot at least 50% from long range. It was the College's seventh-most accurate three-point shooting night (47.6%) and matched its sixth-most threes made in a game.

• The Cougars got out to an early 13-3 lead, and eventually pushed the pace to make the game 30-16 by the second quarter. Winthrop threatened with an 11-2 run, but the Cougars responded with a 15-3 run of their own to close out the half up 49-32. In the third, the Cougars ripped off a 26-4 run to bury the Eagles' hopes at a comeback.

"We shot the ball very well and very confidently," Jackson said. "We caused a lot of turnovers and our starters had a lot of good chemistry out there, and they got the job done for us. I want to see us continue to compete at a high level Saturday, because N.C. State is a very good team. We want to continue with our intensity on defense and keep up our pressure. 21 assists tonight was key, and against a team like the Wolfpack, those extra passes and getting the ball to the right person at right time will make a big difference."

The Cougars will hope to ride the momentum into the weekend when they will continue their road trip against (RV) N.C. State. That contest is slated for 6 p.m. on Saturday in Reynolds Coliseum.
