
Equestrian Finishes Second; Region Lead Widens

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston's equestrian team finished second on Saturday at Georgia Southern University's spring horse show held at Evermore Farms in Brooklet, Ga.
Georgia Southern won with 35 points followed by Charleston with 34 points. The region lead for the College of Charleston is now 17 points over second place Georgia Southern. Senior Victoria Bauer started the day by winning open fences, followed by freshman Shannon Rice winning her section of intermediate fences.
Sophomore Jackie Lundsted closed out the jumping portion of the day winning novice fences. Freshman Sammie Barton and Mia Vawter each won their sections of advanced walk, trot, canter and novice flat, respectively. Regional qualifiers for the team so far this season are Jenna Terribile in walk, trot, canter and Hannah Showell in intermediate flat.
