CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston equestrian team will close out fall competition by hosting the College of Charleston Fall Horse Show on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Storybook Farms on Johns Island, S.C.
The Cougars have turned in a strong fall season with wins on day two of the IHSA Fall Classic and season opener at the Georgia Southern Show. They also finished second twice and are one-point out of first-place in the current regional standings behind South Carolina (170 points).
"This is our last show of the semester and it's nice to be at home," CofC Head Coach Bob Story said. "Traditionally, we are pretty good in our home arena. As always, the riders have to control the things that they can control and they have to stay focused. When the team does that they become quite formidable."
Sophomore Elif Caynak and sophomore Elizabeth High will compete in Walk/Trot, while sophomore Samantha Bledsoe, freshman Ruby Gonzales and sophomore Annika Vilcins compete in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter. The all-day event will start at 9 a.m. (ET).
In Novice Flat, the Cougars will be represented by junior Sammie Barton, sophomore Molly Coyle and freshman Makenna Grierson. Junior Hannah Bentz and junior Sophia Meserve are entered in Novice Fences; senior Christina Hayden and freshman Olivia Moriarty in Intermediate Flat; freshman Beverly Davis and freshman Laura Crenshaw in Intermediate Fences; senior Annie Kuniansky and junior Shannon Rice in Open Flat and junior Dorian Cieslak and senior Hannah Showell in Open Fences.
