CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston equestrian team won its final show of the fall semester on Saturday at Storybook Farms.

The Cougars posted 45 points followed by the University of South Carolina with 29 points.

Junior Samantha Barton, sophomore Molly Coyle and freshman Makenna Grierson each won their sections of Novice Flat. Two of the three Walk/Trot/Canter sections were won by sophomores Ruby Gonzales and Annika Vilcins.

Senior Christina Hayden won Intermediate Flat (Section A) while sophomore Elizabeth High won Walk/Trot to close out the flat portion of the day. Senior Hannah Showell took top honors in Open Fences with junior Sophia Meserve winning her section of Novice Fences.

"The home shows are tough, because the girls are caring for our equine athletes as well as competing," CofC Head Coach Bob Story said. "For the team to stay focused and compete at such a level is a testament to their hard work and dedication."
