CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team (2-6) plays its final non-conference road game of the season this Friday, when they travel to Jacksonville to face off against the North Florida Ospreys (5-5) at 7 p.m. in UNF Arena.
The Cougars are in the midst of a three-game road trip, and have split their previous two games with a win over Coastal Carolina and a loss at the hands of No. 5 South Carolina. Tanisha Brown had an excellent showing against the Chanticleers with a 25-10 double-double, while Darien Huff led the Cougars against the Gamecocks with 10 points and a career-high five steals.
The College has only encountered North Florida once before in women's basketball, when they played last season in TD Arena. Brown recorded a 13-10 double-double, Florida-native Baileigh Larson had a career day with 11 points, but the Cougars ultimately fell 60-47.
The Ospreys are undefeated at home this season, but have only played two games within UNF Arena to date with wins over Warner and Bethune-Cookman. North Florida boasts two other wins against Division I opponents, having defeated Morehead State and Florida A&M. Tesh Hanson and Keonna Farmer both average eight rebounds and double-digit scoring for UNF, making for an imposing presence in the front court.
