CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team (6-20, 2-13) plays their final two home games of the season this weekend, with UNCW (9-17, 2-13) on the schedule for Friday and Northeastern (13-13, 8-7) coming to town to play on Sunday.
The Cougars square off with UNCW at 11:30 a.m. for their annual Education Day game, which is free of charge to attend. Sunday then marks CofC's Senior Day game, which begins at 2 p.m. Seniors Shiclasia Brown, Tanisha Brown and Brianna Boyd will be honored approximately 15 minutes prior to tipoff.
The last time the Cougars and Seahawks met this season, CofC emerged victorious in Wilmington by a score of 72-63 in a game where Tanisha Brown was just one assist shy of a triple-double. With UNCW having a matching 2-13 record against conference opponents, the winner of Friday's conference will take sole possession of the ninth seed in the CAA standings. The Seahawks lost their first 10 conference encounters this year, but have picked up wins in two of their last five games.
Northeastern defeated CofC 59-37 earlier this season in the Cabot Center, but have struggled recently by losing three of their last four contests, with each of those defeats being by 18 points or more. Junior point guard Jess Genco is the team's leader with team highs in points, assists and steals for Northeastern.
Tickets for the tilt against Northeastern are still available by calling (843) 953-COFC or by visiting CofCSports.com/Tickets
