TRYON, N.C. – The College of Charleston equestrian team won the High Point Team Championship at Wofford's first IHSA Show held on Feb. 24 at the Foothills Equestrian Nature Center (FENCE).
The team posted 40 points followed by Coastal Carolina with 34 points. The Cougars now have a 33-point lead in the region over second-place South Carolina. Junior Sammie Barton (Colbert, Ga.) was the reserve high point rider of the day.
"The riders had good, solid rides all day long," CofC Head Coach Bob Story said. "Their preparation over the past few weeks really paid off in the ring for them this weekend. The team is peaking at the right time with our home show coming up next Saturday followed by Region Finals on Sunday. It really was a stellar performance."
CofC will next compete in its final regular-season show at home on Saturday, March 3 at Storybook Farm on Johns Island, S.C.
