
Second Top-15 Finish For Bentley at The Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – In just his fourth career start, College of Charleston freshman Reed Bentley (Spartanburg, S.C.) was the top finisher for the men's golf team at The Schenkel Invitational held at the par-72 Forest Heights Country Club on Sunday.
Bentley carded rounds of 71, 70 and 71 to finish 4-under par for the tournament and 11th individually. It marked his second Top 15 finish this season after tying for seventh at The Battle at Stono Ferry in the fall.
Sophomore Hunter Dunagan (Augusta, Ga.) also made a Top 15 finish with rounds of 69, 70 and 74 to tie for 12th (-3).
As a team, CofC placed eighth in the 14-team field with a three-round score of 857 (-7). Vanderbilt won the team title (-29) and host Georgia Southern was runner-up (-21). Theo Humphrey earned individual medalist honors shooting a three-round 203 (-13).
"I am happy with the finish this week," CofC Head Coach Mark McEntire said. "We were four shots out from an excellent week. Congrats to Reed Bentley on a fantastic tournament. We got another solid finish from Hunter Dunagan as well. I really feel that we are about to do something special."
The Cougars will return to action at The Hootie Intercollegiate at Bulls Bay on March 25-27 at Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C.
