Cougars Place Second At Navy Spring Coed

ANNAPOLIS, Md. --- Stefano Peschiera (Lima, Peru) skippered the College of Charleston sailing team to a first-place finish in A-Division with crew of Grace McCarthy (San Diego, Calif.) and Oliver Parsons (Stonington, Conn.) to pace the Cougars to a second-place finish at the Navy Spring Coed this past weekend.
The Cougars finished the regatta with 224 points to end the weekend just eight points behind first-place Old Dominion. Peschiera teamed with McCarthy and Parsons to win A-Division by nine points with an 18-race total of 101 points. The trio posted three race wins, and nine top-five finishes. Jack Brown (Newtown Square, Pa.) skippered the Cougars to a fifth-place performance in B-Division with 123 points. Katie Lounsbury (Jensen Beach, Fla.) and Carter Cameron (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) split the crew duties with Brown.
The Cougars will sail in two more regattas this weekend ahead of next month's ICSA National Championships: SAISA Women's Championship on Saturday, April 21 at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Complex, and the Admiral's Cup on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22 in New York, N.Y.
